All college campuses and sites will reopen and classes and normal operations will resume on Monday, Oct. 3.

College staff has spent the last two days assessing our campuses, cleaning up outdoor debris and working with our partners at Duke Energy to restore power at locations that were impacted by Hurricane Ian. Preparations for reopening will continue over the weekend. The college remains closed through Sunday, Oct. 2, however joint-use libraries may reopen sooner. Please visit their websites for more information.

Faculty, please remember that any and all assignments that were due during the closure may be submitted once the college reopens, without penalty. Professors/teachers should work with students on revised deadlines or makeup times. Additionally, the tuition payment due date for the Fall 2nd 8-Week Session has been extended to Wednesday, Oct. 5; the deadline to apply for scholarships for Spring 2023 from the SPC Foundation has been extended to Friday, Oct. 7.

Please note that students and employees in areas affected by Hurricane Ian may be eligible for disaster relief assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Please visit or the FEMA App to apply for assistance. You can also call 1-800-621-FEMA (1-800-621-3362), TTY: 1-800-462-7585. You will be updated by the SPC Emergency Council or your campus leadership if anything changes. We look forward to resuming normal operations and seeing students, faculty and staff back on campuses and online on Monday.
